April Favourites

Sorry for not doing a favourites last month but I didn't have any new loves. This month is a different story though. I have lots of new things from the Manchester meet up goody bag as well as a couple of other rediscovered things and of course some new purchases.

The first thing I've been loving is the Skinetica* spot treatment. I was a little skeptical at first because it smells like alcohol but I'm so pleased I gave it a go. It has reduced my exam stress spots so much in a matter of days and they are almost gone after five days use. It is the best spot treatment I have tried, and I've tried a fair few.

Next up is the Dove Summer Glow Daily Tanning Lotion. I've actually never used fake tan at home before partly because I couldn't be arsed and seeing so many streaky orange girls completely put me off. I decided to give it a go though and start easy with a build up tan. This gives such a nice orange free tan and it is noticeable after a couple of applications. It can be a little sticky and I'm not sold on the smell but it's worth putting up with and using a mitt really helps. Not gonna lie, I'm a little streaky at the moment but I'm learning!

This month my Mum bought the Sally Hansen Healthy Cuticles Now Balm because both of us have dry peeling nails. I hadn't given my nails even a days break from nail varnish for about 7 months so after removing all my nail varnish I've been applying this once or twice a day for a week. My nails have stopped feeling and feel so much more moisturised already.

In the goody bag I received the Neal And Wolf Blow Dry Balm* and I was impressed from the first use. It made my hair sleek, frizz free, bouncier, easier to style and kept it's style longer. It's perfect for a polished salon finish. I used the conditioner treatment from the brand for the first time yesterday and that made my hair so silky soft so I'll definitely look into more from the brand.

A couple of make up bits I've rediscovered are the Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 101 and the Accessorize Baked Blush in Sensational. At the meet up I asked  the lovely Zoe what her lipstick was because it looked gorgeous and when she told me it was the Rimmel one I went straight home to dust mine off. It's a dusky pink with what I think is quite a retro look.  The formula is really creamy and the citrus smell is lovely. I rediscovered the blush because I wanted to use a pink blush other than Nars Deep Throat for a change. The Accessorize blush isn't the creamiest or most pigmented blush but it gives such a pretty sheen that makes up for it. It's really different to any other blushes I own so I will try to appreciate it a bit more. That's the problem with being a make up hoarder- so much make up so little time!

February Favourites

Last months favourites were a week early which sort of makes up for the lateness of this one! I haven't got too many products this month as I stuck to most of the same favourites as last month because when I love something I stay pretty faithful.

Mac 217 Blending Brush:
I've had this brush for about 5 months and I absolutely love it. The soft tapered end makes blending so fast and easy. This brush is yet to shed which means it will hopefully last for ages. The only thing I don't like is that the writing is rubbing off the side and I wouldn't expect that from an expensive brush especially because it hasn't happened on cheaper ones. Non the less I really want to try more Mac brushes because the quality is top notch.

Pixi Brow Brush:
I picked this up on a trip to London and it's the first I have tried from Pixi. I really like the cute mint green handle, it's one of my favourite colours. The dual end makes it so handy and the angled side is small and firm enough to get neat brows.

Nars Deep Throat Blush:
When it comes to blush I usually change it up everyday so the fact I have worn this almost every single day since I got it three weeks ago shows just how much I love it. It's by far my favourite blush. Its mainly pink with a hint of coral and gold glitter so it gives the prettiest pink flush to the cheeks. It instantly brightens up my face and its just plain gorgeous.

Flawless By Nadia Mineral Blush in Dusk*:
I have already raved about  this but I loved it so much I had to include it. It's very pigmented and soft and the colour is stunning. I haven't got as much wear out of this as the Nars blush because it is mineral so it is not morning friendly. For a full review and a swatch click here.

Mac Shy Girl:
I featured this in a recent haul post and I have loved wearing it since I got it. It's the perfect peachy nude so its gotten a lot of wear during the day. I actually enjoy reapplying this because the texture is so creamy and luxurious.

❄ An Early January Favourites ❄

It's nearly the end of the month and I decided to join the monthly favourites band waggon.  I have lots of new things from Christmas to talk about so this is the perfect time to start. Also can we all take a moment to appreciate the fact I am early with this. Early! I annoy all my friends because I'm so late so you should feel honoured.

Maybelline Baby Lips
I know you must be sick of my rambling on about these but they are just perfect. The three shades I have are Pink Punch, Cherry Me Red and Grape Vine. When I first applied the colour I was surprised at how noticeable the colour is and it lasts for a couple of hours too. They smell so good I have been shoving them in my friends face and getting them to smell it.

Naked 2 Palette
I bought this as a late Christmas present  for myself after lusting after it for so long. I've been using it every day for a month and it's still amazing with every use. Worth the hype and then some! All the colours are gorgeous but Half Baked, Verve and Snake Bite are my favourites.

Vera Wang Princess Eau De Toilette
I got this in the sale for £22 after loving a sample size. It is described as having waterlilly, apple, mandarin meringue (?!), golden apricot skin, dark chocolate, amber, musk and vanilla. What a list! I normally don't like musky scents but this has the perfect hint of musky-ness. It lasts a good few hours on the skin so it has become my new everyday perfume.

Soap and Glory Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser
Skin care doesn't really float my boat. I  normally just can't get excited over moisturisers and cleansers but this is an exception. Since the first week of using it I noticed my skin looked so much brighter and it feels so soft. I have also noticed I've been getting less break outs and the break outs I have been getting are much smaller. The only thing not good about it is the herbal smell which I wasn't expecting from Soap and Glory. The benefits are so worth putting up with the smell for though.

Nivea Rich Regenerating Night Cream
Surprisingly another skin care item! As you may know I love the day cream version of this so as I was in desperate need of a new night cream I decided to give this a go. It has such a thick buttery texture which makes it feel luxurious to apply. It is seriously moisturising and makes my skin feel so soft. Best of all it doesn't cause me to break out! I've tried Simple, Organics, Superdrug Own and so many more night creams but Nivea night cream is the only one not to make my face look like a darts board. Everything about it is perfect and I highly recommend fellow dry skin suffers pick it up. The only thing I don't like about the brand is the fact everything comes in a cardboard box which is so wasteful.
