February Favourites

Last months favourites were a week early which sort of makes up for the lateness of this one! I haven't got too many products this month as I stuck to most of the same favourites as last month because when I love something I stay pretty faithful.

Mac 217 Blending Brush:
I've had this brush for about 5 months and I absolutely love it. The soft tapered end makes blending so fast and easy. This brush is yet to shed which means it will hopefully last for ages. The only thing I don't like is that the writing is rubbing off the side and I wouldn't expect that from an expensive brush especially because it hasn't happened on cheaper ones. Non the less I really want to try more Mac brushes because the quality is top notch.

Pixi Brow Brush:
I picked this up on a trip to London and it's the first I have tried from Pixi. I really like the cute mint green handle, it's one of my favourite colours. The dual end makes it so handy and the angled side is small and firm enough to get neat brows.

Nars Deep Throat Blush:
When it comes to blush I usually change it up everyday so the fact I have worn this almost every single day since I got it three weeks ago shows just how much I love it. It's by far my favourite blush. Its mainly pink with a hint of coral and gold glitter so it gives the prettiest pink flush to the cheeks. It instantly brightens up my face and its just plain gorgeous.

Flawless By Nadia Mineral Blush in Dusk*:
I have already raved about  this but I loved it so much I had to include it. It's very pigmented and soft and the colour is stunning. I haven't got as much wear out of this as the Nars blush because it is mineral so it is not morning friendly. For a full review and a swatch click here.

Mac Shy Girl:
I featured this in a recent haul post and I have loved wearing it since I got it. It's the perfect peachy nude so its gotten a lot of wear during the day. I actually enjoy reapplying this because the texture is so creamy and luxurious.

Have you tried any of these products? What has been your favourites?

Mac Shy Girl Dupe

Mac are my favourite brand for lipsticks because of the colour range, quality and packaging. However at £14 a piece and Mac cheekily bumping up the price they aren't very affordable so it's no surprise everybody loves a Mac dupe. I was admiring my lipsticks one day when I noticed a dupe for one of Mac's best loved lipstick- Shy Girl. The Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight is only £6.29 which is half the price, but is it a good enough dupe?

L- Shy  Girl R- Nude Delight
As you can see they are very similar warm peachy nudes. It actually took me a while to work out which swatch was which! The Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Nude Delight is slightly warmer and actually more pigmented then Shy Girl. They are both creamy and moisturising although Shy Girl feels much lighter on the lips and definitely has a more luxurious texture.
If you've been lusting after Shy Girl for a while but don't want to splash the cash then the Rimmel Nude Delight is a great alternative. I do prefer the Mac lipstick just because of the scent, packaging and slightly more luxurious texture.

Have you tried either of these lipsticks? Do you know a good mac lippy dupe?

This is the make up I wore to go out for a meal at Pizza Hut with some friends. We managed to eat and laugh so much that we all felt sick. I got the cookie dough desert for the first ever time and it really confused me. Why didn't they just cook it the whole way through? Do people actually like sloppy cookie dough over a crunchy cooked cookie? It honestly baffled me.
For this look I used my new lipstick Chatterbox for the first time although to tone it down I only dabbed it on and put some lip butter on top. My shirt is also a recent purchase from Monki when I was in London. Monochromes may be on trend this Spring and Summer but nothing will stop me wearing mint green!

Mac Lipstick Collection

Today I am doing a Mac Lipstick collection post because I love seeing what colours everyone else has. There is such a huge colour range it can be over whelming when you're at the counter. Back when I was a young whipper-snapper  I was so scared to get a Mac lipstick for the first time because all the formula's and colours confused me. Aww bless. I only own four Mac lipsticks which is nothing compared to some people who have a ridiculous amount.  Four is enough to call it a collection at least!

Creme Cup was my first ever Mac lipstick. The colour is a wearable everyday pink with blue tones which makes your teeth look whiter. It is a cremesheen which is my favourite. It's so creamy and glossy looking but it only lasts a couple of hours. In the bullet it has a gorgeous sweet almost fudge smell! When it runs out, which properly wont be too long as I use it so much, I will definitely repurchase it.

Next up is Please Me which is a matte finish. I love the way matte lipsticks look. It still as a creamy texture and it isn't drying. Out of all of them this is properly my least favourite. It is a lovely colour but it doesn't have the same wow factor. If you're on a budget Pink Pout from Revlon is a great dupe for it.

Russian Red is another matte lipstick. I once worse this for a night out and didn't even need to touch it up the whole night. Impressive! I love the berry tone to this that stops it from being a super harsh colour. Like any red lipstick it definitely needs to be applied with a lip brush first to stop it looking messy. This lipstick is a sort of special to me because I got it to celebrate getting my braces off!

Last but not least is Full Speed. It is part of the sheen supreme range hence the different packaging which I hate because the lid is a bugger to get off! The formulation isn't quite as smooth as a cremesheen but it lasts for much longer. The bright coral colour is gorgeous and very pigmented.

Do you own any Mac lipsticks? What is your favourite?

Braceless & Mac Russian Red

Yesterday, at 11:50 am, I got my braces removed! After two years it feels amazing to finally be able to feel my teeth again.

To celebrate this momentous occasion I went and bought Mac Russian Red. I've always wanted a red lipstick but I've never had the confidence to wear it with a metal mouth. The last thing I wanted to do was draw attention towards it! So this is my first ever red lipstick. I chose Russian Red because it has a berry tone to it rather than a stark red. It is a matte finish but the creamy texture means it applies like a dream. I haven't worn this out yet but to stop it bleeding and make it last longer I'll be returning to  Mac to get a red lip liner. I'll definitely start wearing brighter lipsticks now!

Do you have a favourite red lipstick?

Mid Month Favourites

At the end of the month there are so many monthly favourites around so to mix things up a bit I decided to do my favourites in the middle (-ish) of the month. That's just the kind of crazy life I lead!

MUA Heaven and Earth Palette:
Recently I have been really loving the MUA Heaven And Earth Palette. There are 12 well pigmented colours for £4 which is a pretty  good bargain. Its has been so useful to do a variety of quick everyday looks when I am running  late for college, so pretty much everyday!

Mac Creme Cup:
Creme Cup was my first ever Mac lipstick. It is a cremesheen finish so the texture is very creamy and glossy, as the name suggests. The colour is a wearable light pink that I find very flattering on my complexion (ghostly pale with blue eyes and dirty blond hair). For me, its the perfect pink every day lipstick.

Essie Orange It's Obvious:
For my birthday a friend gave me this as part of a present. It's a gorgeous vibrant orange shade that is apparently a dupe for the Chanel Holiday nail varnish. You know when you love the colour of your nails so much you can't help but keep admiring them? Well for me this is one of those colours. Although I find Essie polishes chip quickly for me the colour is so worth it.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups:
These have to be my ultimate weakness! Which is why I ate them before I had chance to take a photo, sorry! When I went to America last year I ate a ridiculous amount of them and since then I have become slightly addicted. They are so sweet and peanut buttery it is hard to resist and I have weak will power. At the moment they are half price in Sainsburys and you can bet that I'm making the most of it!

Music:
Music wise I've been listening to Conor Maynard's latest song Turn Around a lot for the past few weeks. I got the chance to see him perform a few songs live not long a go and since then I've discovered how good his voice is. His acoustic covers on youtube are amazing! Plus he seems like a nice lad and not too bad on the eye ey!

My Essentials!

For my first ever post (yay!) I finally decided to do a post on my everyday essential products. These are all staples in my make up bag at the moment.

First on the list I have the Revlon Colour Stay Foundation for normal/dry skin in the shade ivory. This is my all time favourite foundation. I love how long it lasts, the full coverage and the fact its suitable for my ghostly pale skin!
*UPDATE: I have know realised that whilst this is great for pale skin, it is way to pink for me. You can see the new foundation I am using in this haul*
Revlon Colourstay for Normal/Dry skin in Ivory £12.49
This is the brush I use to apply it. These 'painter' style brushes have become pretty unpopular but I find this the best brush for applying foundation. It gives the best streak free flawless coverage. The brush is pretty small so it takes a little longer but the extra time definitely pays off.  I even prefer it to the Real Techniques stippling brush and Sephora mineral brush!
Top Shop Foundation Brush £7
This is a new addition I bought with boots points because I'm terrible at saving them. After months of lusting after it I'm so glad I finally have it! Its a gorgeous colour to use as a eye shadow base or, if you're lazy like me, on its own. It really makes blue eyes pop.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo- On and On Bronze £4.99

Last but not least is the Mac Cream Colour Base in Pearl. I bought this after Sammi from BeautyCrush talked about it in a video. Personally I found it a bit pricey at £14 but I do use it every day to give a gorgeous shine on the cheek bones and brighten up tired skin.
Mac Cream Colour Base in Pearl £14
